Merry Christmas from Lamma Island!

Wishing you all a very lovely time from a very lovely little island, where we are celebrating in Hong Kong with our dear friends Heidi and Tricky and family....thinking of you all and Nana and Pop, especially last night when I was telling Isabel all about our Christmas Eves down at the farm. Santa managed to find us on our island of dogs and no cars, shrines and hippies, beaches and bars, although he almost got caught red-hatted...hope he found you all too, and you have all been GOOD (not you, Silly Uncle Peter, we know that won't happen!)...anyway, lots of love to everybody, especially to the small ones this Christmas, and thank you all for lovely gifts

NORTH AMERICA TRIP

JUST A QUICK REPORT OF LATEST TRIP TO CANADA AND KENTUCKY. HAD A BRILLIANT TIME WITH CANADIAN OFFSHOOT.. GOT TO VISIT PIP AT UNIVERSITY...SAW TIM PLAY ICE HOCKEY...HE EVEN SPENT TIME IN THE SIN BIN ..HOW COOL IS THAT ? AND WENT TO SEE THE JERSEY BOYS AT THE THEATRE...FORGOTTEN JUST HOW GOOD FRANKI VALLI SONGS ARE ! !

THEN ON TO KENTUCKY AND HEIDI'S NEW ABODE....(IN TIME FOR THANKSGIVING) VERY NICE TOO... LOVELY AREA MORE LIKE SCOTLAND THAN KENTUCKY....AND A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE WITH LOTS OF LAND ALL ROUND ..PACKED LOADS IN.. DID MAMOUTH CAVES...OBVIOUSLY THE LARGEST IN THE WORLD ! ! BUT A GREAT DAY OUT... SCHOOL PLAYS WITH TYLER AS HUMPTY DUMPTY...HILARIOUS... FULL TOUR OF A BOURBON WHISKY DISTILLERY..YES WE THOUGHT OF POP JIM A LOT..ESPECIALLY AT THE TASTING SESSION !! SO A GREAT TRIP ALL ROUND. THEY SEEM TO HAVE SETTLED IN BRILLIANTLY CONSIDERING THEY HAVE ONLY BEEN THERE FIVE MONTHS..

Hey Man....Just an update from Portugal (AKA Woodstock)...60´s and 70´s Party over the weekend. Spent the whole night flicking my new found locks...arh those were the days..... Max was on a sleep over and then spent Sunday doing Lego, watching the footy and beating me senseless on the Wii... Glad you guy´s had a great time in Canada and the Thanksgiving dinner went well. Off to Belgium on Friday for the Christmas Markets. mmmmm chocolate anyone...Looking forward to the Chrimbo break with the folks, here´s hoping for some nice Algarvian Sun over the holidays. Pete & Paul's Toronto Adventure

The British invasion of Canada began with a royal visit to the University of Western Ontario, where President Pip greeted Prince Pete and Princess Pauline on the steps of his country home. Prez Pip then showed off his new motor (he wishes...) before guiding his royal visitors around his stately home in London...once a way had been cleared through the kegs, barrels and bottles. This evening their Eminences were treated to their first game of hockey where Tim's Naked team (that's their official name...honest!) were victorious 4-1 despite Tim The Enforcer being sent to the Sin Bin. Love to all, P&P, C&D, P&T

Where in the World?

Here's one for the golfers amongst us...I'm just back from my latest trip and this golf course hole is called the 'Tail of the Whale'. The tee is on the mainland and the green is on an islet in the ocean. The club provides an amphibious vehicle to get between the two. Where was I?

Driving Miss Daisy

Driving home from the beach on Sunday after walking the Mutt. Everyone back now from the yearly October visit to the UK.

Weather still stunning, clear and sunny mid 70´s since summer.

Just loved his face on this one !!!!! He thought the dodgems were fun, but the ´ol beemer was much better. Got some great looks from the cars coming the other way !!!!!

Halloween!

Pumpkins galore! the kids have been
busy carving them, I still can't bring myself to eat them! Fall is upon us! The trees are losing their leaves and the heating is on! bring back the summer I think I missed it this year!



Can you say 'SCARY'!!!! We have now got to the point where you have to be 'scary'! not cute anymore! so here Tyler is in his 'bloody' mask! and Maddie being the wicked witch! Halloween was fun - yet another new neighborhood to 'test out'!

Hope this find you all healthy and happy - Next Thanksgiving and M&D's visit can't wait:-)

Peter Pan does it again in 3hrs 21 mins

No photo yet to show the triumphant moment - but Chris ran the Toronto Marathon today. His time was a personal best - 3hrs 21 mins - a whole 6 mins quicker than his previous best time, set 18 YEARS AGO in the London Marathon. Not only does this qualify him for Boston again next year, it proves that as the rest of us are getting older......Peter Pan continues to get younger every day!

Well worth the wait - and the grandchildren are definitely happy having a much larger area to trash!

Swine Flu Thanksgiving!

No trip to the cottage for Thanksgiving weekend this year: both Tim and dara have H1N1 flu, so we are hunkered down at home. Pip insists on wearing a mask so he doesn't catch it too. Of course, this also means that Dara can't handle the turkey, so we set up the surgical team as shown above to work on stuffing the turkey under Dara's supervision. Who knew you could stuff so much up a turkey's backside?? And we are about to find out how much you can stuff into a Pip and Chip!

I´m sure it was bigger than that....but maybe I was needing a fishermans tale?
Just for the record, a 6lb Salmon out of Boat Pool on Boleside, Tweed.
First on the fly for me, so I know someone up there was helping me out !
Had a great time with Pap´s on his birthday too, riverside BBQ and a bottle of Bubbly on the beat...Doesn´t get any better than that. Thanks Dad.

Sorry for the lack of post´s...been a tough year I think for most..so here´s looking forward to a more prosperous 2010!

No Prizes for this One!

A few pictures from our short trip to the UK. No prizes for "where in the world are we" - the boys and I had a lovely day in London. I thought Big Ben was looking fabulous after his clean up, and the Eye was a great way to see it all. Thought of Pop and Katie Nana as we glided around. The lower picture shows my boys all dressed up to take their Gran and assorted cousins and others to posh English Cream Tea. My Mum (next to Tim) was looking really well - I am thinking of signing up for a pacemaker myself..... I need some more energy!
