Scotland


Just back from a few days' break north of the border in Edinburgh - lovely city which we never had time to explore when Pop used to dash us through on the way to Banff and the salmon! Top pic is self-evident but where/what is the bottom amazing piece of engineering?

The Falkirk Wheel, I believe.
An ingenious piece of architecture designed by Scottish Nationalists whereby visiting Sassenachs are sign posted on to a motorway that ends in a sudden sheer drop of 100 feet and hence balancing the respective populations of England and Scotland...
