Our Graduates

Our two new Canadian graduates: Pip's High School Graduation pic and Timothy's First Year snowboarding class pic...
Pip has advance university acceptances from four unis now in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia, so he's going to have to make some decisions by May about where and when...Right now, he's counting the days until his Grad Trip to the Dominican Republic...Whilst we are likewise counting the days to our UK trip with Tim.
Speaking of whom: he is now tearing up the black runs on the Ontario ski hills after year one snowboarding. This week we had another 15 cm of snow, followed by 15 cm of freezing rain...so no blossoms on our trees yet! I'm just back from New Brunswick, and even the dog is pretending he doesn't know me any more...

Now THIS is what you call snow!

The guys we employ to clear our driveway arrived at 3am. The snow plough came by before 7am. And Toronto got on with its day....... much to the boys disappointment there was no snow day at school despite 15cms of snow overnight.

Portuguese Update

Hi Everyone,

This photo was taken by Heidi "Bailey" Robinson on our post cruise trip to Sarasota.
But it´s obviously the good subjects that count !!!!!
Real Estate her in Portugal going well, lots of new products to learn, but there´s definitely too many ZEROS on the end of these properties.

Love to all Jamie, Clare and Max

After the snow

We walked up to the weir on Sunday afternoon - have never seen so much water coming over. The pond was overflowing into the river.

Wimps!!

Now this is what we call snow in Canada...Snow so high that the only way in and out the house is down the chimney...

Devestation!

My beautiful garden after two grandsons (and their mother!) had paid a visit!

This is Toughton NOT Boronto....

Day off school

Bet Pip and Tim wished this happened every time it snowed in Canada!

Snow Day in England

Trying to beat Pete at getting the first snow picture on the blog! This was my garden at 8:30 this morning - schools all closed, Luton, Stansted, B'ham airports totally disrupted, in fact The Midlands has vitually closed down - and all for two inches of snow (can hear Canada laughing from here!).

Frozen Farm

Can't work out how to put more than one picture on at a time - can anyone help?

Frozen Farm

We went to feed Pop's ducks but the pond was frozen so they'd gone to the river. So we went to see the new lambs instead (only two so far but more on the way).

Am trying to get my own contributor name so am posting this to see if I.ve done it. B

Canadian Update

Hi everyone
Canada has been a bit quiet recently as Chris has been traveling (surprise!). He visited Disney World and Canmore Alberta in the last 2 weeks. Meanwhile Pip is very proud of himself (hence Bev's entry below) as he has received an early acceptance to Western University - a very prestigeous school just 2 hrs west of Toronto. Well done Pip!
Here is a picture of Chris cheating at skiing......

Congratulations! What a wizard!

Well done, Pip, on being accepted for Western (Canada's equivalent to Oxford for those uneducated ones amongst you!). And, yes, the photo really IS Pip! Love, Bev

Late News from China

Happy Old Year Everyone...making a stylishly late entrance, China have made it into 2007....Father Christmas managed to find Isabel on the train, as we sped through the night on Christmas Eve and woke to frosty rice terraces and cold water buffalo on Christmas morning...we sang 'Do they know it's Christmas time at all' as Kev wandered through the train in his festive hat...but they didn't....a lovely Hong Kong Christmas followed, with Izzy getting mixed up with Rice Krispies and wishing all and sundry a 'rice christmas'...was she the only child in the family to have a Pot Noodle for Christmas lunch? (She did have some brussel sprouts in the evening!) anyway, looks like everyone had a happy time...hope the old 'uns upstairs had a smile on their faces watching us all! Lots of love xxxx

Happy New Year from Spratton

We had a lovely Courchevel Christmas - enough snow for skiing because we were quite high though no actual snowfall while we were there. The fog on the way out only delayed us for two hours so we were very lucky compared to most folk flying out on the same day. Finn not very impressed with the actual snow though he loved riding up and down in the gondola and Jordan found he could still ski after all having spent weeks beforehand convincing himself that he couldn't. Nana still not very brave but then green and blue have always been her favourite colours (when pink is not an option). Poor Gabi exhausted after having to do clever stuff in the mornings with Steve and instructor stuff in the afternoons with me and Jordan. Hope every one had a great Christmas, love to you all, Bev

Happy New Year from Canada

Happy 2007!
We have just returned from a week up north at the cottage...much restorative peace, but not much snow and even the lake was largely unfrozen. The pic is Gibson posing with one of our inuksuks beside the driveway to the cottage after a sprinkling of snow. Hope everyone's travels and rests were equally restoring.
